Medicare Demo Project Update
This note is reminder that April 1, 2010, began the fifth and final year of the Medicare Low Vision Rehabilitation Demonstration Project. The project is still ongoing and CMS is in the process of compiling an evaluation report. Once this report is finalized it will be shared with members of the Low Vision Rehabilitation Network (LVRN) network. We have received many inquiries from the LVRN network with regard to the recent health care legislation and possible changes in the coverage of low vision rehabilitation services.
There are no changes to report at this time that are related to this legislation. Those interested in learning more about and discussing current Medicare coverage issues relevant to low vision are invited to visit pplvr.com where articles are posted that discuss Medicare and the low vision rehabilitation service delivery system.
These postings are part of a free learning community for low vision rehabilitation professionals that will allow you to participate by responding to articles already posted. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at jderemeik@jhmi.edu.
